Beaver Translate is a Google Workspace Add-on developed by 2023 Riverside High School graduate Jack Carbone. Jack developed the add-on while working for the Riverside Local School District's Technology Department following graduation.
Beaver Translate enables students and staff to translate Google Slides into any language.
Beaver Translate Setup:
For all students and staff with a Riverside Schools account, Beaver Translate should automatically be installed. If you should have this add-on, but it is not installed in Google Slides, then you may follow these instructions to get it setup.
1) Go to Google Slides and open any presentation.
2) Click on Extensions > Add-ons > Get add-ons (located near the top of the site). You should now be in the extensions marketplace.
3) Search "Beaver Translate" in the search bar and the app should appear if it is active.
4) Install the app.
5) Refresh your Google Slides tab(s) after install.
6) First time users will need to give permission to Beaver Translate. This will happen when you use the app for the first time.
Beaver Translate Usage Instructions:
1) At the top of Google Slides, navigate to Extensions > Beaver Translate.
2) Under the Beaver Translate dropdown, you will have options for how you would like to translate your presentation. When you click on one, a translation window will appear in the center of the screen.
3) Choose your target language to translate to (from the dropdown).
4) Ensure you are using the correct translation mode (full presentation, full copy, or selection) and then press the translate button at the bottom of the window.
5) Done! You have translated your presentation!
