Riverside participating in Bi-County Art Show
Students from the Riverside Local School District are participating in the Lake & Geauga County Juried Student Art Awards held at Lakeland Community College.
Artwork from students in Lake and Geauga area schools will be submitted by their art teachers and displayed at Lakeland Community College from January 22 until the gallery closing day on February 18. The gallery closing day will feature a ceremony honoring students with certificates, scholarships and gift cards once the work is judged by local artists, colleges, former art teachers and gallery owners.
On average, more than 400 pieces of artwork from students in grades 6 through 12 are submitted to the gallery with a small number of students winning cash awards and scholarships. Mediums represented include photography, digital photography, sculpture, ceramics, painting, drawing, printmaking, fiber, mixed media, jewelry and crafts.
Members of the public are encouraged to visit Lakeland Community College (Building D) between January 22 and February 18 to see all the submitted artwork. The awards ceremony on February 18 is also free and open to the public at noon with a reception to follow.
Several school districts and schools will be participating including Riverside Local Schools, Andrews-Osborne Academy, Berskshire School District, Chardon Local Schools, Kenston Local Schools, Mentor Public Schools, Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, Painesville City Schools, Perry Local Schools, Kirtland Local Schools, West Geauga Local Schools and Wiloughby-Eastlake School District.
